Description

I'm not a professional record dealer and usually sell and trade my records in private.
I have decided to put a few high profile items up on ebay to give some new people
a chance to get their hands on some of these very rare items.

This Is Marijata
GAPO LP 012

This is the debut LP by legendary Ghanaian funk band Marijata.
I don't have to tell you that this is not only one of the best 5 Funk albums to ever come out of Africa.
In my honest, personal opinion, this is also one of the toughest funk records of all time, world wide.

The entire record has unequaled impact on any dancefloor I have ever encountered and I've dj-ed
funk parties on three continents.  This was my personal most desired record and I ran newspaper adverts
in Ghana's largest national paper for weeks and over the period of 3 years before finally
finding my first copy. Word got around and I wisely left my cell phone with a Ghanaian friend
so eventually, I found another copy of this incredibly desirable record.

The condition of the ivinyl is a strong, solid VG+ on all three funk tracks.
Much, much better than only other copy ever to be sold on ebay about a year ago.
All 3 Funk tracks play absolutely great! The (awesome!) soul track "I walk alone" plays
with minor background noise and has a short scratch towards the very end that causes a few clicks.
Listen for yourself!
I recorded this LP in its entirety so you can listen to the whole thing and hear how great this record plays.
There are no fades or edits within tracks, this record is as clean as it sounds!

The cover has some writing on front and moderate wear.
The seams are worn but not split and there are marks from the top right corner having been bent.
This also shows on the backside. Other than that, the cover looks great.
This is a prime example for beautifully designed and hand silk screen printed African record cover art!
The labels are intact with pen writing on one side where the first owner had first written his name and later blacked it out.
