Description
THIS HEAT - S/T THIS-1 (Piano Records, UK, 1979)
Original UK Issue. A4/E B3/E matrices. "NIRUP" written in run out on side 1.
Condition (I Grade NM / EX / VG+ / VG / VG- / G / F)
Sleeve - VG Sleeve is solid, but with wear to the edges and corners. There is some foxing and some creasing on the surface of the sleeve. Spine worn and creased, but the rubric is just about still legible.
Vinyl - VG Record has signs of regular play and has picked up some wear. There are a few noticeable scratches and track marks on either side - plus hairlines under strong light. None of these have a serious effect on play - but the record is a bit noisy. Most of side 1 and some of side 2 has a constant(though most of the time, mellow) - level of crackle (not that the record starts IN the run in!). The record is quite dynamic, with very loud and quiet section, but fortunately the music is always pretty clear and sits and the crackle sits (not too uncomfortably) behind the music. There are no really loud clicks or other unwanted activity throughout otherwise.
Who Wants This? It's not an ideal collectors copy, but it is still a strong player, despite the surface noise. I personally think the crackle doesn't really affect play too much in a detrimental way here - and for a Quiet/Loud record such as this, that works to its credit. This is one of my favourite albums of its era and I never felt the need to upgrade to a better copy. If you are after a decent original of this record the way it was intended (I doubt the reissues are a) analog sourced b)have the run-in / run out groove bits done properly - must have been a tricky record to cut!), that you can listen to, this is a decent copy.

- I remove records from their outer sleeves to avoid splitting. All records are packed in a plastic sleeve for extra protection.
