Original UK Dandelion white label stereo press.

The final album from John Peel's Dandelion Records released in 1972 and the swansong for the label as the distribution deal with Polydor was being terminated. There is some mystery as to why John Peel decided to issue this compilation album as the label was folding. Possibly, it was to try and help the various artists on the label get new contracts, but with a couple of exceptions, such as Medicine Head & Bridget St John, most were left unsigned. Similarly, the identity of the lady in the bath remains a mystery, John Peel never let on and was always embarrassed by it in later years. It may have been a two fingered salute to Polydor, but as a way into the many artists & the rare records the label released it is a must have.

This is the original issue with the later white Dandelion labels, the orange foldout poster, with the earliest A-1 B-1 matrices and 1-1-4 1-1-2 mother stampers of the very first presses!
  The E. J. Day Group textured matt sleeve is intact and in VG+ condition with some light corner/edge wear and some storage rubbing/creasing on the cover. The spine is intact and fully readable. The plain company inner is intact & in EX condition and the foldout poster is intact, with some creasing & in VG+ condition.   The record is in visually EX condition, with only a couple of faint sleeve removal hairlines and one or two faint needle scuffs visible on each side. The labels are in EX condition, clean & bright with evidence of a couple of faint spindle markings on each side.   The sound reproduction is EX, still clear & precise throughout with no loud crackle or hiss and definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some very brief background noise during the run in grooves.
Overall, just a really great, loud & clear listen.   The matrix nos. are; 2485021, A//1-420 stamper 1-1-4, B//1-420 stamper 1-1-2. This is one of the early copies of the first pressing of the original 1972 UK stereo issue of this album!
