The record has just a little bit more than what I would call a "handful" of scratches on either side. A couple of them are a bit long, however, they all appear to be pretty light in severity. There are 1 or 2 smaller nicks that could potentially be deeper. At any rate there isn't likely anything bad enough to cause a skip and this record probably still sounds fine. There may be a couple pops or clicks audible here and there, though. VG
No Insert was included.
The cover is also in pretty decent shape. There is minor ring wear, just barely visible, at the top and bottom middle of front and back. 2 corners have very small bends. (less than an inch) There are barely any visible veins and 3 of the the corners only have light wear. The 4th corner has moderate wear leaning towards severe, but it's mostly visible from the bottom only. The spine edge has severe wear across half it, and moderate wear on the other half. Only about half of the title text is still readable. (see pictures) Overall the damage isn't nearly as bad as it sounds and this thing still looks really good from front and back, and easily rates VG.
Grades that I use are G-, G, G+, G++, G+++, VG, VG+, VG++, VG+++/EX, NM. I won't be describing anything as M or MINT unless it is unopened and the packaging is completely unblemished. Records that have never been played but HAVE been opened, will be described as Near Mint or NM. These are the adjectives that I use when describing damage: Very Light < Light < Moderate < Severe < Catastrophic. To describe damage in between those ranks I say things like: "Moderate leaning towards Severe," "Moderate leaning towards light," or "In between Light and Moderate"...just for example.
