Despite various reissue formats over several decades, the seven original LPs contained in Thelonious Monk — The Riverside Tenor Sessions stood perfectly well on their own at the time of initial release and remain among the highest achievements of a truly golden age. Recorded and released between 1956 and 1961, these seven Monk combo albums were critical in Monk's emergence from a decade of ridicule and neglect to his status at the pinnacle of the jazz pantheon.
In addition to some of his best recorded piano performances and more than two dozen of his profoundly personal compositions, these albums provide an overview of the era's major tenor saxophonists, with contributions by Sonny Rollins, Coleman Hawkins, John Coltrane, Johnny Griffin, Charlie Rouse and Harold Land. Max Roach, Art Blakely, Roy Haynes and Thad Jones are among the other jazz immortals featured on the essential Brilliant Corners, Monk's Music, Thelonious Monk and John Coltrane, Thelonious in Action, Misterioso, 5 by Monk by 5 and Quartet Plus Two at the Blackhawk. The box contains seven 12" x 12" inserts replicating the LP jackets.
Like the Miles Davis quintet records contained in Analogue Productions' Miles Davis Quintet: The Prestige Recordings, these Monk albums are among the pinnacle of the LP art — now pressed by Quality Record Pressings, and they have never sounded better.

Alle Platten wurden von mir sorgfältig per Ultraschall gereinigt und klingen schlicht fantastisch. Alle bekamen zudem neue, zusätzliche Katta-Sleeves, da die LPs durch den Transport selbst in den originalen AP-Sleeves Statik aufwiesen (natürlich liegen die originalen Hüllen bei)
Die Box und alle weiteren Inhalte (Booklet, Cover-Replika) sind MINT. Bitte beachten Sie, dass diese Ausgabe keine LP-Cover beinhaltet, sondern "nur" Papp-Replikas mit Vorder- und Rückseite der originalen Cover

Aus Platzgründen muss ich mich leider von ein paar tollen Platten meiner Sammlung trennen.

- alle originalen Inhalte (Lyric-Sheet, OIS, Poster, etc) sind immer dabei, ansonsten gebe ich es in der Beschreibung an - die Platten sind i.d.R. nicht gewaschen (sonst weise ich oben darauf hin), d.h. sie können manchmal etwas staubig sein, lässt sich nicht vermeiden, aber schnell mit einem Plattenbesen bereinigen
- beiligende Download-Codes sind evtl. bereits von mir verwendet worden und werden möglicherweise nicht mehr funktionieren. - the records are usually not washed (otherwise I point it out above), i.e. they can sometimes be a bit dusty, can't be avoided, but can be cleaned quickly with a record broom
