Description
Blue label with silver text; Bill Grauer Productions, mono, deep groove. 7 tracks recorded "live" at the Five Spot Cafe, NYC, in 1958. Leader, Monk, piano; Johnny Griffin, tenor sax; Ahmed Abdul-Malik, bass; Roy Haynes, drums. 2 tracks of the tune "Epistrophy" at end of each side are short.
Cover: Mint(-) Intact and clean. The jacket shows no wear, no aging. The spot in the photo is from the flash.
Record: Mint(-) Visually shows no wear. Played only 2 or 3 times with care. On Track 1, Side 1, 1 faint click on the 1st revolution. A faint click on Track 2 about mid Track, barely audible. Also, 2 clicks just past mid Track. On Track 3, 1 click near the beginning of the Track, 2 faint clicks mid Track, barely audible, and 2 clicks at the beginning of the drum solo. On Side 2, Track 1, 1 faint click on the 3rd or 4th revolution and 1 faint click at end of Monk's solo. 1 click during the bass solo. The noise described is infrequent and for the most part, light. Fine quality, close to Mint. Audibly checked.
