Thelonious Monk, Genius of Modern Music, Volume 2, Mono, Blue Note 1511 Original inner sleeve Side 1 has the New York, USA label, Side 2 has the W. 63rd St. label. (Somewhat rare but a practice of Blue Note at the time of the transition between labels, which dates this pressing to 1964-65.) On the dead wax: inscribed (not stamped) RVG, ear, inscribed '9M' on both sides.
Vinyl: Excellent... There are some scattered, low-volume ticks and one or two spots with perhaps 3 seconds of surface noise. Overall, not too far from a NM record, thoroughly enjoyable, and with spectacular sound-quality--brilliant, present and alive.
Covers: Excellent... The only real defects are spots of rubbing along the three edges. No seams splits, no ring-wear, extremely clean, a very nice jacket. The inner sleeve is the "1939-1965 25 Years of Blue Note" version. One side is completely split. Otherwise a very nice, clean, well-preserved inner sleeve.
Packaging includes original inner sleeve, new audiophile inner sleeve, new outer sleeve, cardboard padding, bubble-wrap and a thick cardboard record box. You may also want to look at the following:
