Matrix 719A and 719B
This is 1 of the 100 records pressed in 1981 by Charlie Ahearn & Fab Five Freddy for the deejay's to use in the most iconic Hip Hop movie made, Wild Style.
A true Hip Hop grail.
Purchased in 2015 from a New York record store that had acquired the record collection of Peter Dougherty (RIP) who was responsible for starting Yo! MTV Raps.
Peter Dougherty and Fab 5 Freddy were friends in the NY scene long before Yo! MTV Raps came about and i can only assume that Fab gave Pete a copy of the record back when Wild Style the movie was made. The pencil writing on the center label i can also assume that it was written by Fred because the letters are very similar to his graffiti tags from back in the day and others who own copies have stated their copies have the same style writing on them. Again these are only assumptions made since owning the record.
Since the record came from a non deejay's collection it is virtually untouched. It literally has no fingerprints on the playing surface and has remained that way. I would grade it a strong VG+ to NM.
