Mega rare Mono copy pressed in Burbank, California with the 1st pressing matrix numbers: Side A - V-5008-S-1 MG-558-REV / Side B - V-5008-S-2 MG-559. Uncensored gatefold cover with an unpeeled Andy Warhol's sticker in the form of a banana and a fully visible flipped image of Emerson on the back. Very early pressing copy on the blue and silver T Verve labels with the west coast only 2.75 inch deep groove and two misprints on Side 2. The labels are in Near Mint Minus condition. The gatefold cover is in Excellent condition with some light wear to the corners and spine and a retail store discount stamp. The interior of the cover is Near Mint. I grade Side A visually as Excellent Minus and Side B as Very Good Plus. Beautiful copy with only a few light hairlines and scuffs from the paper inner sleeve. Audio - Side 1 has one skip and a couple of light pops in the beginning of Sunday Morning / Side 2 has a couple of pops and a series of skips in the beginning of Heroin. Considering that Side A doesn't have any visual flaws and Side B has a very light unfeelable mark in the spot I can assume that all of it will go away once the vinyl is properly cleaned, for example, with a VPI cleaning machine. Foreseeing the question frequently asked by collectors, I can confirm that this is one of the rarest copies where the volume level suddenly goes up right after Lou Reed sings "Comes in bells, your servant, don't forsake him..." in the "Venus in Furs" track. This mysterious circumstance has several interpretations with one of them being an assumption that someone in the recording studio accidentally moved the master volume knob during the mastering session.
