The Teardrop Explodes 1980 Treason One sided 10" test acetate Zoo Records
Rare opportunity to acquire this first test acetate for Liverpool's The Teardrop Explodes, made on account of the needs of their first Big Time producer Clive Langer. Three of these acetates were made, one going to Langer, one to manager Bill Drummond and one to singer Julian Cope, who has now decided to drastically cut his archive. This 10" acetate – in its original brown bag – was manufactured at London's The Master Room in early 1980 – there was no acetate made for the B-side, by the way. Having just been played through, this acetate single was proven still to be very clean and fresh sounding, just two pops existing, about one minute apart midway through the song.
