About the Album & Historical Context

Released on September 21, 2018, Proper Dose marked a powerful, mature evolution for Walnut Creek, California's The Story So Far. Moving away from the frantic aggressive energy of their early work, frontman Parker Cannon and the band leaned into beautifully layered, indie-influenced alt-rock and pop-punk soundscapes. Dealing heavily with themes of clarity, recovery, and self-reflection, the record earned widespread critical acclaim and solidified the band's longevity.

Featured Track Highlights:

• "Proper Dose" & "Keep This Up": Fast-paced, hard-hitting anthems that bridge the band's classic energy with their newer, refined melodic sensibilities.

"Take Me as You Please": A standout acoustic-driven, breezy track that highlights the album's introspective, organic production.

"Upside Down": One of the band's most popular and emotional songs to date, utilizing lush textures and soft vocals to build an unforgettable melody.
