Description

The Stone Roses - Pearl Bastard / Sugar Spun Sister orange 7"  Rare 7" - selling from personal collection.
Cardboard sleeve in PVC cover.

The rare Yellow bootleg single featuring the previously unreleased “Pearl Bastard” demo and an early “Sugar Spun Sister” is peak Stone Roses mythology, the kind of record collectors discuss in whispers like it’s a cursed artefact from a Manchester tomb.

“Pearl Bastard” sounds like a lost sibling to “Sugar Spun Sister”: jangling guitars, dreamy haze, and Ian Brown delivering lyrics with the confidence of a man explaining the universe outside a chip shop at 2am. The rough demo of “Sugar Spun Sister” is looser and more psychedelic than the album version, like The Byrds accidentally wandered into the Haçienda and never came back.

Part of the magic is how unfinished it all feels. Roses demos don’t sound polished, they sound discovered. Like someone found a cassette in a bucket hat buried under the M62.

That’s why fans love these bootlegs. The Stone Roses never just released music; they released rumours, half-myths, and beautiful accidents pressed onto coloured vinyl for blokes named Dave to argue about in record shops forever.
