Description
The experience of buying records on Ebay is ruined if, when they arrive, you discover that they are either not in the condition stated or have been damaged in the post! For this reason I describe all my items in detail, and only post using strong sturdy packaging. They are also from a non-smoking and pet-free home. Note that my postage offer still stands. If you win more than one auction within a week, you pay only the postage on one of the items (see below). This can make a particularly big difference if you are an overseas bidder.
The Smiths - 'What Difference Does It Make?' Japanese 12" - 1984

Original Smiths Japanese vinyl releases were limited in number and are becoming extremely difficult to get hold of. The one being offered for auction here is the 1984 Tokuma Japan release of 'What Difference Does It Make?', and is a rare find in that it has both its original OBI strip and Japanese lyrics insert present. Highly-prized by collectors, this item appeared in Record Collector's 2005 Top 100 rarities at number 43 (see photo), whereupon it was given an estimated value at the time of 50.00. Examples of this pressing rarely come up for sale these days.The record itself is in near mint condition, with no visible surface marks on the glossy vinyl and only minor signs of having being played on the labels. The record has been stored outside of the outer sleeve. The outer sleeve is also in near mint condition, with no marks or seam splits and strong sharp edges and corners. The OBI strip is in very good condition as it does have some light creases/'rippling' and a one inch tear along the top edge which is not visible from either the front or back and extends about halfway along the width of the strip. The lyric insert is in near mint condition, with no marks, creases or tears. Please see the accompanying photos for more detail; note that the yellow 'Ebay ID' lettering is just on the pictures and not on the item itself.
