Description
The experience of buying records on Ebay is ruined if, when they arrive, you discover that they are either not in the condition stated or have been damaged in the post! For this reason I describe all my items in detail, and only post using strong sturdy packaging in a 'box' mailer with the record outside the sleeve to avoid seam-splitting. They are also from a non-smoking and pet-free home.

'The Headmaster Ritual' was not released as a single in the UK, though it did appear in very limited numbers as a CD single release in 1988 with different 'Viv Nicholson' artwork, so that there was no 12" vinyl UK pressing of this record. For this Holland release of the single, Morrissey designed a unique 'cowboy' sleeve using an image which was apparently a still taken from the film 'The Uncle'. This record is the only place in which this rare artwork can be found in the 12" format, there being no 12" re-issues, and it is therefore a very collectable and item. In recent times it has become more and more difficult to find examples of this original 1980s Smiths pressing for sale on the market.The vinyl and labels are in superb near mint condition, apparently unplayed and having only one or two of the very lightest of 'hairline' superficial surface marks which are just visible on the extremely glossy vinyl if the record is held to the light. The sleeve is in excellent condition, and would be much better but for one region where there is a deep 'scuff' towards the lower edge on the reverse (see photo) where the surface of the sleeve has been broken in one place. Other than this, there are no significant creases and no marks or writing; all corners and edges are sharp with no seam-splitting anywhere. There is only some very mild 'corner wear' in places. Please see the accompanying photos for more detail; note that the 'Ebay ID' lettering is just on the pictures and not on the item itself.
