Description

The experience of buying records on Ebay is ruined if, when they arrive, you discover that they are either not in the condition stated or have been damaged in the post! For this reason I describe all my items in detail, and only post using strong sturdy packaging in a 'box' mailer with the record outside the sleeve to avoid seam-splitting. They are also from a non-smoking and pet-free home.

The Smiths - 'Panic' 12'' With Promotional Stickers - 1986

Only the very first pressings of this 12" single were issued with a sheet of nine rectangular promotional stickers of three different designs; these stickers were exclusive to this release (since the 7" equivalent was accompanied by smaller circular stickers). Due to the fact that only the first run carried the stickers, it is now very difficult to find copies which have an intact sticker sheet; many of these stickers clearly would have been peeled off and used at the time. The record is a first-run press as indicated by the "RTT 193 A1" and "RTT 193 B1" hand-etched matrix numbers on the run-out grooves, and this auction offers a rare opportunity to obtain this release which is both complete and in superb condition (see below).

The vinyl and labels are in near mint condition, having clearly been barely played and having only the lightest of 'hairline' superficial surface marks just visible on the glossy vinyl if the record is held to the light. The sleeve is in strong excellent condition, with strong sharp edges and corners and only the lightest 'surface break' in the top edge of the sleeve which is the beginning of a seam-split. There is only some very mild 'corner wear' in a few places but no other signs of wear and no writing or damage anywhere. The original light blue inner sleeve is also present and immaculate with no splits or marks. The rare and sought-after sticker sheet is also intact and completely flat with no rips or tears and no marks; it is therefore in superb near mint condition. Please see the accompanying photos; note that the 'Ebay ID' lettering is just on the pictures and not the item itself.

Please do consider paying the extra 70p for tracked postage since there is nothing that can be done to find out what happened if the parcel is lost when standard postage is chosen. Shipping costs are greater for overseas buyers, but still subsidised and very good value; please check prices by using the options above or feel free to ask. Extra items are sent at no extra postage charge to the buyer (see below). I always take great care to package items well with strong mailing materials.
