The Smiths “Live In Rome 1985” vintage live vinyl LP - Rare

This is a rare live album featuring highlights of a concert by The Smiths recorded at the Tendastrisce Theatre, Rome, Italy on May 14, 1985. Although The Smiths made subsequent promotional appearances on Italian television, this concert is notable as their only formal live performance in Italy, and featured a high-energy, well-received set as part of their Meat Is murder tour. Interestingly, the music press stated that Morrissey reported receiving death threats at the time, which allegedly led to the cancellation of other scheduled shows in Italy.

The front and back covers of the album feature a striking black-and-white image of iconic Italian actress Anna Magnani—affectionately associated with “Roma”—sourced from the 1945 film Rome, Open City, with the band’s name presented in bold block lettering along the side.

As these releases are notoriously sloppy in their attention to detail, I have listed the corrected song titles below, along with tracks that were omitted from the sleeve but appear on the vinyl.
