I have owned this 'The Smiths-Complete Box Set' since new. It was a Christmas gift around the time of release and although I very much appreciated the gift I already had a few of The Smiths records in my collection and was quite happy with those. So the box set has sat in my collection unplayed for many years and it is time for me to sell it on to someone who will enjoy.
You will see from images that I have opened the shrink wrap (bottom area of shrink is still in place) and I have also played 2 or 3 of the albums only once (played on my Project debut turntable with Ortofon 10 stylus) and thus I have listed the item in Near Mint condition due to the box being opened and that I have played a few of the records only once on a good turntable but I would say that the collection is good as new and if you are a Smiths fan who has wanted this box set, this I believe is as good as you will get unless you can find one still sealed.
Condition wise- The box is strong and clean with no defects. All outer sleeves are crisp and clean with no defects. One inner sleeve has a slight creasing along the bottom from the edge of the record (please see the image for record 1 of Strangeways Here We Come). Everything such as the booklet, poster and advertisement are with the box set and are in the same condition they were when I opened the box.
This vinyl box set is an excellent addition to the collection of The Smiths fans. It includes their complete collection of albums, all remastered by Johnny Marr with inner sleeves, posters and booklet all present and in as new condition.
Due to the item size and worth I plan to ship the box set in a shipment box I received my copy of the Bob Dylan-Fragments box set, This set was same size as this Smiths set and I believe will be a great option for shipping and protecting the box set.
