Description
The Smiths: "A Nice Bit of Meat" Excellent condition. Still has shrink wrap around it. This is an excellent mish-mash of songs from various sources which includes two songs from The Tube ("Panic" and "Sheila Take A Bow"), two previously unreleased studio mixes ("How Soon Is Now?" and "Reel Around The Fountain"), live performances ("Barbarism Begins At Home," "Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want," "What Do You See In Her?" - an early version of "Wonderful Woman" - and "This Night Has Opened My Eyes") and rare soundcheck material ("Purple Haze," "Asleep," and "Unloveable"). Although the sound quality varies from poor to very good, the album is well-worth the price due to the rarity of the material. The highlights are definitely the soundcheck songs, which The Smiths never performed in concert; also, Pete Burns guesting on the Royal Albert Hall version of "Barbarism Begins At Home"; and the poignant version of "This Night Has Opened My Eyes," culled from the Brixton concert on December 12, 1986 - the last British concert The Smiths ever played.
