The Smiths - 'A Nice Bit Of Meat 3' White Label Bootleg LP

This is a bootleg vinyl LP of the well-known Smiths 'Troy Tate' sessions. The collectability of this particular item lies in its use of the 'Harvey Keitel' artwork and its limited availability of 500 copies; each LP was individually numbered, this one being number 424. The Troy Tate sessions were recorded in the summer of 1983 and were intended for release as the first Smiths LP before, as the familiar story goes, the band (and Morrissey in particular) were unhappy with the quality of the results and decided to re-record the first album with John Porter as producer. The tracklisting differs slightly from the final release, and runs as follows: 'Reel Around The Fountain', 'You've Got Everything Now', 'Miserable Lie', 'These Things Take Time', 'Wonderful Woman', 'Handsome Devil', 'Hand In Glove', 'What Difference Does It Make?', 'I Don't Owe You Anything', 'Suffer Little Children', and 'Pretty Girls Make Graves'. There are those who maintain that the Troy Tate sessions are, in fact, clearer and generally superior to the final versions which were released; though this is, of course, a matter for debate. In either case, the Troy Tate sessions provide a fascinating alternative perspective on the first Smiths album and an insight into the band at a very early stage - several of these tracks sound significantly different to their better-known versions.

The vinyl and labels are in near mint condition, having clearly been played only once or twice and having next to no visible surface marks. The sleeve is also in near mint condition, with no creases, seam-splitting or any apparent signs of wear. The edges and corners are all sharp and unworn. A superb copy of this interesting and collectable item. Please see the accompanying photos for more detail; note that the 'Ebay ID' lettering is just on the pictures and not on the item itself.

All my auctions start at 1P and have NO RESERVE. They are all 100% genuine, original versions. Some are in mint/new condition and some are used; all will go to the highest bidder. I offer a money-back guarantee if anything is described incorrectly. Postage and Packing is 2.50 in the UK for untracked and uninsured standard postage, this is subsidised by myself and the actual costs to me will usually be higher. Please do consider paying the extra 70p for tracked postage since there is nothing that can be done to find out what happened if the parcel is lost when standard postage is chosen. Shipping costs are greater for overseas buyers, but still subsidised and very good value; please check prices by using the options above or feel free to ask. Extra items are sent at no extra postage charge to the buyer (see below). I always take great care to package items well with strong mailing materials.

See my other auctions for related rare items here. If multiple auctions are won at the same time (within a week), I will charge only the postage cost for the heaviest item and pay the remaining postage myself. This is the case wherever you live.
