Description
The experience of buying records on Ebay is ruined if, when they arrive, you discover that they are either not in the condition stated or have been damaged in the post! For this reason I describe all my items in detail, and only post using strong sturdy packaging. They are also from a non-smoking and pet-free home. Note that my postage offer still stands. If you win more than one auction within a week, you pay only the postage on one of the items (see below). This can make a particularly big difference if you are an overseas bidder.
The Smiths - Two 'White Label' Early Promotional 7" Pressings
Early Smiths UK single releases were promoted with 7" 'white label' test pressings rather than the more common 12" pressings which accompanied the later releases. This auction is for test pressings of the Sandie Shaw/Smiths 'Hand In Glove' collaboration and 'Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now', both released in 1984. These are now becoming ridiculously rare and seldom come up for sale, representing an investment in vinyl which has been rising in value in recent years. The conditon in detail is as follows:'Hand In Glove' (With Sandie Shaw) - RT130: The labels are an off-white 'cream colour' (as intended) and the vinyl/labels are in strong excellent condition with only the lightest of 'hairline' surface marks on the vinyl in a couple of places and some faint marks on the labels which do not overly detract from its appearance.
'Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now' - RT156: The vinyl and white labels are in excellent condition, with some light surface marks and one small patch on the B-side where the vinyl appears scuffed/worn. There are some faint marks on the labels and a small circled "A" on the A-side in pen.

On the subject of 7" test pressings, I also have the very rare 'Reel Around The Fountain' and 'This Charming Man' (both green label) test presses, which may be listed on ebay if there is sufficient interest, along with the 'Mayking' 'Meat Is Murder' 7" and a silver label 7" for 'Sheila Take A Bow'; these represented the pride of my Smiths collection.
