Description

Up for auction is the extraordinarily rare original 1971 white label MONO promotional copy of The Rolling Stones "Sticky Fingers". To many (especially Stones fans) this is THE holy grail and is very rarely seen in ANY condition much less VG or better. The vinyl is visually graded VG, so cosmetically it definitely shows it's age with numerous surface marks on both sides. There are some paper scuffs, hairlines, and several scratches that miraculously cannot be felt. Now here's the incredible thing about the vinyl...It SOUNDS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING with an overall play grade of VG+ bordering on EX minus. Several of the tracks, most notably, "Sway", "Can't You Hear Me Knockin","Bitch", and "Sister Morphine" play a solid EX. There are no skips, jumps, and only very intermittent pops throughout the entire duration of the record. The first minute or two of "Brown Sugar" has a play grade of VG but plays a solid VG+ for the remainder of the track. Even the quieter songs like "Wild Horses" and "Moonlight Mile" sound incredible with minimal surface noise. I have numerous records that are visually NM that don't sound as clean as this LP. It's really incredible considering the visual condition of the vinyl. I own practically every formant of this album and this 50 year old mono pressing is far and away the best I have ever heard this album sound. The fidelity and dynamics of this LP are second to none and it's the only format of this album that I will ever listen to now (of course I ripped it to MP3)...and Mr. Watts's IMPECCABLE drumming for me personally is the highlight of this edition with a punch and ferocity that blew me away when I first listened to this copy. The cover overall is VG+ with a pristine zipper that works perfectly. There are small initials on the top left corner of the front cover and on the upper right portion of the label on side B. The spine is in good shape overall as well. This copy also includes the original inner sleeve. (PLEASE SEE AND ZOOM IN ON PHOTOS)...........Rest easy Charlie, you were the greatest...PERIOD.
