Description
This is an incredibly rare and historically important copy of The Rolling Stones' 1967 psychedelic masterpiece, Their Satanic Majesties Request. While the catalog number printed on the back cover states "stereo NPS-2", the dark blue London labels and matrix numbers (ARAL 8126 / ARAL 8127) confirm that this is an authentic, true Mono pressing (NP-2) mispackaged inside a stereo gatefold jacket. True mono US copies are exceptionally scarce because mono production was being phased out in late 1967. Crucially, this copy features the highly coveted, original 3D lenticular photo insert on the front cover, which shows the band's faces shifting when tilted. This feature was quickly discontinued due to high production costs. The inside of the gatefold includes the iconic maze artwork, and the vinyl is in Excellent (EX) condition. Up for auction is a holy grail piece for any serious Rolling Stones collector: a rare, authentic US early true Mono pressing of Their Satanic Majesties Request, released in 1967 on London Records. This highly unique copy is a verified mono disc mispackaged at the factory inside a stereo gatefold jacket (labeled NPS-2 on the lower right of the back cover). The dark blue London "Long Playing" labels carry the matrix numbers ARAL 8126 (Side 1) and ARAL 8127 (Side 2), denoting a dedicated, true mono mix that sounds vastly different and punchier than its stereo counterpart. This copy comes complete with the original, highly desirable 3D lenticular picture attached perfectly to the front cover. The 3D effect works beautifully, showing the band members shifting positions when viewed from different angles. Vinyl Condition: Excellent (EX). The vinyl is in beautiful shape, displaying a brilliant gloss finish with minimal signs of light handling. It has been incredibly well-preserved and will offer a clean, powerful mono listening experience. Label Condition: Excellent. The dark blue London labels are clean and crisp, with sharp silver printing and no writing or major spindle wear. Jacket Condition: Very Good Plus (VG+). The gatefold jacket is structurally brilliant. The front lenticular panel is clean, and the interior psychedelic maze art remains exceptionally bright and colorful. The spine and seams are completely intact and firm, showing only very mild corner and edge shelf wear. Inner Sleeve: Includes a standard white paper inner sleeve. True US mono copies with a fully intact, functioning 3D lenticular cover in this condition are extremely difficult to track down. Please review all high-resolution pictures to verify the labels, matrix stamps, and jacket preservation. Bid with absolute confidence.

- There is a complete audio stream of at least one side of each record on the listing page. Occasionally the audio stream "times out" overseas, limiting the sound, to a brief "clip". If this happens, please email or message me, and I will try to make a correction. Here is my grading system:
- NM- = record appears mostly new and uplayed
- EX or VG++ = record looks great, may be a few light paper scuffs, plays like new.
- VG+ = fairly nice copy, may be a few light marks, occasional tick or pop, but mostly clean sound.
- VG = wear, scuffing, light scratches, ticks and pops, but a very playable copy.
- VG- many scuffs or groove wear, plays with some noise, but still listenable.
- G+ = a playable copy but very very worn, plays with lots of nois
- G through G- = wall hanger
