For this sale auction.THIS VERY RARE ALBUM GETTING VERY HARD TO FIND NOW. THE ROLLING STONES / SOME GIRLS . THIS ONE HAS THE Uncensored inner sleeve which was withdrawn after a very short period THIS ONE HAS ALL THE FACE'S ON.

The Stones wrote this about the women in their lives, mostly groupies. Richards said they called this "Some Girls" because they could never remember their names.

The line "Black girls just want to get f--ked all night" caused an uproar. American civil rights leader Jessie Jackson called for a boycott of the album. Mick Jagger apologized for the line, but refused to re-record it.

This wasn't the first Stones song that outraged feminists. "Brown Sugar" and "Under My Thumb" were also considered degrading to women. The Stones defended this by saying it was a parody of stereotypical attitudes.

This was the second Stones song that was also the album title. "Let It Bleed" was first.

The Stones considered this a dirty version of The Beach Boys' "California Girls."

The album cover was a parody of a newspaper ad for wigs, but the women wearing the wigs were celebrities like Raquel Welch, Lucille Ball, and Farrah Fawcett. They had to remove the famous women when faced with a lawsuit.

Before they edited this down, it was 24 minutes long. Many of Jagger's outrageous ramblings were cut.

Sugar Blue (real name: James Whiting) played harmonica on this track. An American Blues player, he also worked on Emotional Rescue and Tattoo You. Someone from The Stones record company found him playing in the Paris metro, and brought him to these sessions, where he fit in well with the band.

Artist: The Rolling Stones

Title: SOME GIRLS

Year:p 1978

Grading System used for my vinyl:

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler

Condition of this vinyl: THE VINYL IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND HAS BEEN TEST PLAYED NO SKIPS OR JUMPS AND ONLY VERY LIGHT  MARKS. THE OUTER COVER IS EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH ONLY VERY LIGHT STORAGE WARE WITH TWO CORNERS  LIGHTLY SCUFFED. THE INNER SLEEVE IS IN GOOD CONDITION BUT HAS A SPLIT ON THE LEFT HAND SIDE. THE GRADING SYSTEM I USE ABOVE IS HIGHLIGHTED IN PART TO COVER THE CONDITION OF THIS RECORD I ONLY HIGHLIGHTED GOOD TO BRING TO YOUR ATTENTION TO THE SPLIT ON THE INNER SLEEVE BUT OVERALL A VERY NICE COPY OF THIS RARE ALBUM.
