DAVID BOWIE: The Rise & Fall Of Ziggy Stardust & The Spiders From Mars. Rare 1972 UK first issue 11-track LP, with '1E/2E' machine stamped matrices & 'Titantic/Chrysalis' credit on the labels, picture sleeve & illustrated lyric inner. This first issue pre-dates the Mainman contract, & as such has no reference to Mainman anywhere on the cover or label. SF8287   THE COVER: The matt cover shows wear to the top and bottom edges. The spine remains intact with light wear which you would expect for an LP this old, minimal light wear to the top and bottom corners. The spine still remains damage free with partial readability of the spine text. The covers surface shows very light scuffing due to storage. There is light feathering to the opening edges, with a small amount of damage (view images) there are no signs of any other forms of damage. I have graded the cover in very strong VERY GOOD condition.   THE BACK COVER: The back cover reveals very light minimal creasing to the surface. The surface shows light scuffing. There are no signs of any other damage. I have graded the back cover again in very strong VERY GOOD condition.   THE INNER SLEEVE: Original lyric insert is graded in VERY GOOD condition. One edge has a small split.   THE VINYL: Both sides of this vinyl LP revel a very clean deep beautiful shine. There are no deep scratches to any side of this LP. There are numerous hairline and surface marks to both sides when held under a strong light. I have graded the vinyl in VERY GOOD  condition. Side 1 in VERY GOOD condition. Side 2 in VERY GOOD condition.    THE LABELS: All the labels are in EXCELLENT condition and showing very light minimal spindle trace lines and light wear around the central spindle hole.     The LP played through with minimal surface noise to both lead-in tracks but this soon vanished, even between tracks there was minimal noise. The LP revealed no distortion and had clarity and depth. The sound was clean with good stereo separation. If I was marking this out of 10 for sound quality alone I would easily give it 8.5 out of 10. I've heard noisier modern pressings than this 48 year old classic.
