The RUTS DC Rhythm Collision Volume 1 White label / test pressing LP.
I bought this in the late 1980s via the for sale listings in the back pages of Record Collector. An interesting item... Included is a handwritten letter dated 24th June 1982 from Dave Ruffy from the band (signed David Ruffy) on Ruts DC headed paper, addressed to 'John'. The person I bought this from claimed that the John in question was John Peel. There isn't anything to authenticate this, though. I've obscured the address and phone number on the images, but these will be visible to the new owner. Probably not advisable to visit or call after nearly 40 years, though!
The letter references 2 x white label albums and 2 x finished 45s. What I bought and what is up for grabs is 1 x white label album along with the letter.
The vinyl has handwritten labels, presumably written by Dave Ruffy (the handwriting is the same as the letter). Condition is very good - side two has suffered from some clouding, caused by a PVC sleeve (see images). There are also a few surface marks. Playback produces a little surface noise in quieter parts, but is not affected by the clouding.
I pack my items very well and securely.
