Description

If you are looking at this, you already know who The Nerves were and what this EP is all about---no need to dig in to Plimsouls, Case, The Beat or Blondie. The first pressing when they were in SF in ’76 had a white background on the reverse of the picture sleeve; the second pressing in ’77 had a black background with LA address. First pressing had 2000 copies. This is a combination of first pressing disc with second pressing sleeve. Apparently there were about 150 copies packaged in this fashion--- Leftover 1st pressing vinyl with Wakefield "tulip" logo and "29527" in runouts, but in the 2nd pressing cover with black back cover having white text. After that, second pressings had the black back sleeve but no “tulip” logo in the dead wax. I bought two copies direct from the band by mail order in ’77. This copy has NEVER BEEN PLAYED and looks it---stunning vinyl. Disc is MINT---Sleeve, I will rate as VG+---no tears, holes or rips---some slight spotting at top right of front (see scan) and what looks to be very slight residue from a sticker about an inch below the “ES” in Nerves (not visible on scan) with a hint of ring wear starting to become visible. Could the sleeve be better? Yes, but it is in pretty good shape. The disc, on the other hand, could not be better---doubtful you will ever see another first pressing disc in this condition. These original pressings are getting quite hard to find in decent condition. Media Mail in US $5.50; International rates to be determined.
