Description
This is a really REALLY RARE American White label dj 45 Promo by The Monkees entitled
"My Favorite Monkee" Davy Jones Sings..
Side A - A Little Bit Me, A Little Bit You
Side B - She Hangs Out
Side B is as featured in the Rhino's 'Monkees Music Box' A picture of this record appeared in Rhino's re-issue of "More of the Monkees". The Monkees went onto to re-record this for their 4th Long Player, Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones Ltd.
A bit about the record....The story goes that Don Kirshner coerced Davy Jones to New York to record a batch of records with a view to issuing a follow up to 'I'm A Believer' but effectively with Davy doing both sides. Davy went along, laid down vocals over the backing track..before anyone knew it, DK issued it to dj's as a White label promo - as you see here! Mr Nezzz went balistic....and the Golden Year was out of The Monkees circle...The record finally emerged but with Papa Nezz's 'The Girl I Knew Somewhere' as the B-side.
This is a piece of Music history!!!
The record is graded VG (it may be slightly better, but I wouldn't want to trick anyone). From memory it played OK (no record player, connected - so can't be certain) with some crackle and pop but no skips. I've used Goldmine & Record Collector to try and grade.
The label is pretty clean as you can see. You're looking at something nearly 40 yearls old!
This very rarely - if ever - comes up on E-bay. So don't miss out!!!!
Any questions, please e-mail me.
