Description
Here's a nice copy of The Marvelettes' first LP " Please Mr. Postman" on Tamla TM 228 from 1961. The record is on the first label for this LP- white background with overlapping record and globe logo, as can be seen in my photos. The record looks Near Mint and it plays VG+ with some surface noise between songs. This surface noise is not really heard in The Marvelettes' songs, since it is a hot cut LP record. The sound is good and loud with great dynamics. The noise does not detract from the great Marvelettes/Tamla sound.
The cover is entirely and tightly wrapped in its original shrink wrap. There are no cut out holes, just a very small price sticker on the lower right of the front cover. The back cover has no issues but for a small handwritten number. The edge of the cover where the record slides in and out has a little "roughness" for about 3" as shown in the photos. The spine of the cover is totally intact. The front and back covers have white backgrounds that are still very white and have not aged or yellowed.
This is the first pressing of an early rock and roll classic LP. At one time, a copy in this condition would book for near $600.00. I am putting this copy up for auction with a modest reserve of only $38.99! As I said, nice copy of an early classic!
Shipping/handling will be $4.00 within the U.S. See my other Records for sale this week on ebay by clicking "See Other Items." Please do not bid unless you have at least 20 positive feedbacks.
