Description
The Light User Syndrome, The Fall, scarce first pressing, JetLP 1012, 1996; legendary radio presenter and journalist John Peel's copy, with his catalogue number in his hand on top left of sleeve and with the John Peel sleeve note published on the underside of the sleeve.
Vinyl: Excellent, very light surface paper scratches when held under a bright light, plays through clearly without skipping. No spindle marks. See the photos and the video.
Sleeve: Very Good + Lovely quality, barely used; crease to top left near catalogue number sticker; small tear to the bottom right edge of sleeve, see the last photo. Otherwise I would rate the sleeve as excellent as it is so well-preserved. Inner sleeve: plastic, as issued.
John Peel's copy from his collection, with his published sleeve note on the back panel:
'Waleed lives in Baghdad. He wants to hear The Fall. Penelope is a teacher. She lives in Honey Grove, Texas, and heard The Fall on the BBC World Service. Sebastian works in Hamburg. He's a doctor and roams the internet in search of Fall information. Not all the time, mind. Jeff does the same. He lives in Ipswich and has compiled an authoritative Fall discography. William is my son. He said 'Fall LP's don't really need sleeve notes, Dad'. He's right, of course.'
John Peel (1939-2004) championed The Fall from the start, citing them as his favourite band. Peel was instrumental in supporting other bands and singers such as The Sex Pistols, Joy Division, Nirvana, The Damned, Queen, The Cure, The Clash, The Undertones, David Bowie, T. Rex others, helping bring them to the awareness of the listening public; his ‘Peel Sessions’ in particular providing a hugely important platform for emerging talent. Peel had a vast vinyl collection, each copy catalogued with a number on the sleeve.
A superb association copy. Provenance can be supplied.
In a plastic sleeve. Will be posted in a LP mailer.
