Description
The Jam 'In the City' 2383447 A 12" LP
This is a 1977 Polydor Records, original press of The Jam's classic Mod revival debut LP.
If you have never heard the Jam on a good hi-fi at the full all-analog sound quality of the original UK vinyl presses, then you are in for a treat. The dual Weller / Foxton Rickenbacker guitar / bass attack through an all-valve Marshall backline, and Buckler's drumming, cuts through in a way you will never remotely get from digital downloads or a CD.
If your mate on social media thinks that's wrong, message me and I'll explain Nyquist, sampling and compression to you and then you can correct them :-) Then we can argue about if this is Punk, New Wave, Mod or something else.
Pressing is marked 2383447 A // 1 C 1 2 4 Allen ( A side). As far as I know, this is a first or early press.
Vinyl is all clean and plays fine throughout, and the cover looks good for its age with some age-related wear and tear (see pictures). It has been well cared for.
This especially was Paul Weller's opening statement of what was to come. Look after this and it will hold or increase it's value.
