Description:

Well kept, exceptionally rare privately distributed score for the 1950s television series “Project Twenty”, issued only to the NBC filmmakers to aid in production. “The Innocent Years” aired in November, 1957, and featured archival footage music from the turn of the century until the beginning of World War I. This rather long score features only Bennett's arranged music with no dialogue, showcasing a medley of nearly uninterrupted, popular music from the 1900-1914 time period, still well-known to this day. Of course Robert Russell Bennett was the highly prolific composer and arranger of numerous Broadway and Hollywood musical hit scores, such as  Oklahoma!, Finian’s Rainbow, Brigadoon, Kiss Me, Kate, South Pacific, The King and I, Me and Juliet, My Fair Lady, Gigi, Flower Drum Song, The Sound of Music, Camelot, On a Clear Day You Can See Forever, and Funny Girl, as well as the popular series of documentary film soundtracks "Victory at Sea" and many others.
