Performer Notes: Continuing the arc they established on CHIMAIRA and RESURRECTION, Cleveland sextet Chimaira hone their Pantera-meets-Hatebreed approach with brutal, straightforward metalcore. Erasing any lingering associations with the late '90s nu metal scene they were unfairly lumped in with in their early days, the band deliver nine epics replete with monster riffs, pummeling double bass drums, and guttural vocals on their fifth full-length, THE INFECTION. Producer Ben Schigel (who also helmed THE IMPOSSIBILITY OF REASON and CHIMAIRA) returns to the fold and provides Matt DeVries and Rob Arnold's twin guitars the sonic thickness they need to dominate all comers.
