LIBERTY RECORDS cat# ~ STEREO 1968 Original 1968 FIRST PRESSING psychedelic LP on the 2-toned blue/turquoise lables.

The eclectic psychedelic group from the Midlands of England was founded by Jeff Lynne, as an outlet for his Beatles fascination. More specifically John Lennon's Beatles influences. This ambition is apparent in his vocal delivery, production, and lyrical style. That doesn't make this band a tribute clone though, they had their own unique and identifying sound for sure! There's a certain 'Vaudeville' style that is present in some songs, as well as original English folk too - all within a psychedelic pop framework. This is the second album by Idle Race and it's less 'whimsical' this time. A more mature and defined lp, you can tell The MOVE and them were on a similar psych course! Yes, this was certainly 'something else', too. Musically fulfilling, it's an album of complexity and completion. It's also what collecting psych on vinyl, is all about. This is a gem to keep, especially in nice playing condition.

Condition; The VINYL is great EX / VG++ CONDITION with excellent sound. Plays wonderfully.
STEREO LABLES are bright clean VG++ ..... The 'Textured' COVER grades VG+. No separations, writing or splits, the soft flexible card has wear to the edges, light wear to the faces (see photos). A respectable and nice playing copy - and it's the first matrix "A1" pressing (as shown above). *
