The Hobbit Rankin/Bass Soundtrack 2 Box Set Vinyl LP with Book, Poster, and Transfers - Special Edition
The original 1978 SPECIAL EDITION soundtrack for the Rankin/Bass production of The Hobbit is a deluxe 2 record (LP) set with a special edition large size 16 - page book of full color illustrations from the animated motion picture, transfer illustrations for polyester materials, and a poster.
Good condition. Slight wear on box corners and edges due to age, discoloration inside box cover where unused transfers faded onto cover. Box is in good condition structurally. Transfers still look great. Book included is in great condition, poster is unused and in great condition, on the back of one side of the poster there is a faint bleed through imprint of the iron-on transfers. Records appear to be free any visible scratches or dents. 
Specific condition for each piece: 

  • The box is in very good condition for its age. There is some color loss around the edges of the box from years of storage. Inside the the box faded on images of the transfers that are included and bled onto the inside front cover. See photos.
  • The records are visually in good shape. They appear to be free of any scratches or knicks or dents. They look great, like new. The dust covers are in good condition as well even though they show signs of age, mainly slight yellowing discoloration.
  • The poster is 22 inches x 24 inches. It is folded to fit the box by the original manufacturer It is particularly in good condition. Colors are still vibrant, no tears or extra folds. However, on the back of the poster in one fourth of the white side is a faint bleed through of the iron-on transfer images. 
  • The 16 page book is in good condition. The colors are still vivid and the book is structurally in good shape. There is a crease in the bottom right corner of the front of the book. See photos. 
This is a great collection piece for Hobbit fans.
