Description
Hey you out there!!! After nearly three years of work here it is!!! The official first release of an LP by Dutch 60s Freakbeat band the Heatwave containing 14 original compositions from the period 67/ 69 never before released. First press is a special one. There's only 500 numbered copies. All sleeves are signed by the 5 original bandmembers. All sleeves are numbered. It comes in a luxury gatefold sleeve and its 200 gramms vinyl. Any subsequent press will be normal vinyl and a normal sleeve so this is the one to get. Band came from Dordrecht and had had for various reasons never a proper release in the 60s. Right in the period they were active there was not enough trust within Dutch record Companies for Dutch bands. Only very few Dutch freakbeat psych 45's by new bands were released in this period. While doing research for the 'Surprieze' reissue for my Grey Past Records I stumbled over very poor casesetts holding the Heatwave music. I was dumbfounded. I knew it was genius. The music had flashes of the Q65 alike Dutch heavy bands, UK bands like the Move or the Attack and some interesting flashes of the good Motown stuff. Fantastic use of fat fuzz too! So totally the right sound for all our ears. In the end, after years of searching for proper tapes, we found the best possible copies and I knew this was going to be a hell of a release. Most tunes were recorded in the practice room with two mikes with some vocal and guitarbits overdubbing. It's a raw direct in the face document by a very talented band. 14 originals. A bunch of real freakbeat stompers, thick fuzz guitars, psychedelic moves, two introspective songs... It's all here. Early 1969 the record company finally gave in to the Heatwave and had them record an Italian fullblown orchestrated love song. This was not what the band had in mind so they looked each other in the eyes and split up. Two of the members (Jan Bek and Janco Barut) went to the other local top band the Zipps. This press is disappearing fast. So get it now. IT is a 2006 release but it's also the official first album of this fantastic band. First time for the Netherlands that a whole unreleased album by a genuine 60s band with all originals is released! I accept Paypal, Iban Bank payments for Europe, Western Union transfer and cash. We pack once a week.
