Description

An original genuine 1st USA pressing of GUNSIGHT. Matrix A1/B1. 'Date Records' - a subsidiary of Columbia which folded soon after release of this title - 1970. Not a big hit in the UK and one imagines barely made even a ripple in the states. So, a 1969 original USA Date pressing must be a super hard find. The vinyl is very heavy-set so it's got much more in keeping with the sixties - than the seventies. Note how the tape numbers on the labels are inverted - this tends to only be found on sixties records. Along with no publishing credits - it mention 'Copy Control'. The vinyl comes housed in an original Date cover with pinched spine. Slightly different layout on the rear of the cover [to the UK ones]. Track timings are listed over on the left side. They don't seem to be that accurate - which is a sign of an early copy.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In super condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing  heavy or troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetwens are nice and clean and the audio comes across with great clarity.  A lovely clean player which manages to deliver an excellent rigidity.  A few slight crackles in one isolated spot per side. Nothing upfront at all. A really sweet player.
Cover (Vg+) Lovely clean and flat front - very smart looking. A bit of laminate lift bottom left - but otherwise really nice. The rear has avoided the worst of the ageing process. A bit of grubbiness on the flipbacks. But overall very nice indeed. Minimal edge wear. Spine is pretty much fully intact with just a touch of grubbiness.
