Description

The First Production 45 RPM Record...PeeWee the Piccolo. In the original, first, "woods scene" album. Vinyl in VG+ and better condition.  Go to the Indiana State Museum website to find the framed pressing of PeeWee with the inscription, "This is the first 45 rpm record pressed at the RCA Sherman Avenue, Indianapolis plant". It is signed by R.O. Price, plant manager, dated December 7, 1948. The RCA presses in Camden, NJ were idled by a strike at that time (See Billboard magazine). This is the first 45 rpm recording to enter production. It has taken me 30 years to find 4 sets of PeeWee and I haven't found one in 3 years. That was me you saw on hands and knees searching thru dusty boxes of 45s between the flea market gun dealer and the guy selling live chickens.
