Crown CST589 The Firebirds Light My Fire 1969 RARE ORIGINAL GARAGE PSYCH FUZZ
This is a RARE 1969 ORIGINAL Vinyl Stereo 12” album, mega sought and stands up as a solid ravaging heavy garage psych album overloaded by fuzzed-up guitar and drunken vocals.
This is a thoroughly intriguing & engaging album that appeared on the Crown label in 1969. Absolutely nothing is known about the band other than their albums have become highly sought-after for their over-the-top heavy psych-blues-rock mayhem that owes much to Hendrix, Iron Butterfly, & Blue Cheer's 'Vincebus Eruptum' (1968).
The Firebirds, also known as "31 Flavors", manage to tear a new hole in the delicate fabric of stoned-dead Blue Cheer style acid-guitar nightmare rock.
Alleged warning about the CROWN label (I do not know if this is true or not): The Crown label is known for their albums to wear out quickly with even light use. However, this copy was purchased by myself in 1969 and has been played probably three times at the most. The overall condition is excellent with no writing or unusual wear (see pictures). Labels have no ring wear. It was stored vertically and handled with loving care in a smoke free home. Cover has light ringwear. The very bottom of the cover has a slight opening where the album popped through (see photo). There was NO SLEEVE included with the album. It was not abused and shows a nice gloss and looks great.
Vinyl conservatively rated at EX+. Cover rated at VG- because of the split seam at the bottom.
Other copies were auctioned at $50-$150.

Mt = Mint. Perfect and in sealed, original shrink-wrap/packaging. Very rare, if ever.
NrMt = Near Mint. As close to perfect as you can get, no visible scuffs/scratches. Played only a couple times, at most.
EX+ = Excellent +. Vinyl may have 1 or 2, if any, minor surface scuffs, but certainly no scratches. Label has no evidence of wear, no writing and sharp coloring. Jacket has no seam splits, no creases, clean edges/corners, no ring-wear, no writing.
EX = Excellent. Vinyl has only a couple minor surface scuffs, but certainly no scratches. Label has very slight evidence of wear, no writing and sharp coloring. Jacket has no seam splits, no creases, very minor chipping at edges/corners, very minor ring-wear, no writing.
EX- = Excellent -. Vinyl has a few surface scuffs, but certainly no scratches. Label has slight evidence of wear, no writing and sharp coloring. Jacket has no seam splits, no creases, very minor chipping at edges or minor bumped corners, minor ring-wear, no writing.
VG+ = Very Good +. Vinyl has a few surface scuffs and/or very minor scratches (but no ‘feeler’ scratches). Label shows some evidence of wear, no writing. Jacket has no seam splits, but has 1-2 small hairline creases and/or minor chipping at edges or bumped corners, some ring-wear, no writing.
VG = Very Good. Vinyl has numerous surface scuffs and/or very minor scratches (but no ‘feeler’ scratches). Label shows some evidence of wear, no writing. Jacket has no seam splits, but has a few hairline creases and/or chipping at edges or bumped corners, moderate ring-wear, no writing.
VG- = Very Good-. Vinyl has numerous surface scuffs and minor scratches (but no ‘feeler’ scratches). Label shows evidence of wear and/or has small amount of writing. Jacket has small seam split (less than 2” long) or has numerous small creases and/or chipping at edges or bumped corners or small amount of writing, moderate ring-wear.
G = Good. Vinyl has numerous surface scuffs/scratches and probably a ‘feeler’ scratch (as noted in listing). Label shows a lot of wear and/or some writing. Jacket has seam split (less than 6” long) or numerous moderate creases and/or major chipping at edges and corners, water damage/stains, or major writing, or heavy ring-wear.
P = Poor. Not worth describing.
