I try to grade as accurately and with as much detail as possible. I will mention any flaws that I find, as no record is absolutely perfect! I play graded the lp from start to finish on a modest high end system. Playgrade is near mint. The quiet passages on the record were clean and clear with no annoying imperfections noted. The dynamics and separation was stunning. The bottom end, full and powerful. I have no way of weighing the record, but it is a thick press. I playgraded using a Benz Glider, Nottingham Horizon SE turntable w/ SAMA, Rega RB 600 tonearm, VanAlstine Transcendence 5 pure vacuum tube preamp, MacCormack DNA-1 amp w/ Platinum upgrade, and Bower & Wilkins DM-604 speakers. Biwired with Audioquest Mammoth on low end and Audioquest live wires on upper end. Granite Audio Silver interconnects, Incognito tonearm wiring, and Express Heavyweight counterbalance, and a Ringmat Mark III platter.
Vinyl is absolutely superb and appears to have hardly been played. Visually the vinyl grades a strong EX+ in daylight with only a few light sleeve scuffs/hairline marks (Some people might grade this record NM) . Vinyl still retains a very nice black gloss. Under a bright halogen bulb you can see very light sleeve scuffs and a few storage marks, but still grades at least EX! The storage marks are from the vinyl sleeve. They are inaudible as are the sleeve marks.
Label grades NM- and has only a few spindle marks, this LP has probably only been played 3 or 4 times. Label is dark blue/silver and has very strong colors. There is no writing or tears to either label. See pictures.
Record sleeve grades EX, has laminated front cover with minor soiling at the opening (see photo). Some minor scuffs to edges, light creases, a little discloration to whiteness due to age, but is still very presentable. Has a a slight buckle to bottom of sleeve on back cover, not really that noticeable. Back of sleeve is matte finish and has some light wear/discloration due to age as well. Sleeve has no writing, but there is a removed sticker residue on upper right on back.
Also there is a partial rubber stamp stating "Distributed" and "22nd". I can't read the rest of it, or speculate on it's reason for being there. Maybe it was a stamp from the record company documenting when it was sent from the factory. Overall a superb copy of scarce psych LP - hard to find in this condition. Original inner sleeve is also in excellent condition. The inner sleeve is dated 10/69.
Record will be shipped in strong mailer with LP & cover seperated to prevent from damage to cover. I will also pack with cardboard stiffeners for extra protection. I will ensure that this LP is packed very carefully.
