You're viewing an original Drive Thru Records TEST PRESS copy of The Early November's sophomore release (first full length album): The Room's Too Cold, limited to 16 (test press etching: DTR:42-A RE-1 / DTR-42-B) copies and originally released in October 2003. It has recently been repressed, in celebration of the 10 year anniversary of the album; however this is an original test press manufactured by Erika Records Inc, commissioned by Drive Thru Records.

I purchased this copy directly from the record label, after they found a few boxes of old DTR merchandise in a storage unit. This copy has only been played twice since it has been in my possession (including once to record video clips to provide proof of authenticity, furnished upon request) and I have been extremely careful in handling it each time I have taken it out.

To my dismay, none of the test press copies of the DTR vinyl were properly labelled with the Artist, Album Title, Date, Label, or Job Number as you can see in the picture. Although you can always obtain a repress, this is an original disc from 2003 and a collectible item for any serious fan of the band or the DTR label itself.

What you see is what you get, hardly any test presses come with a sleeve or complete artwork. These test presses are made as a guide for the artist/label; to determine whether or not the plates (used to duplicate copies of the record) are free of defects, before the manufacturer is given the go ahead to mass produce additional copies - which are then available for retail. These are very limited and extremely hard to find.
