Description
Super rare and maybe Brookmeyer's best album ! He plays both trombone and piano !
There are 2 different groups here ..... The Bob Brookmeyer Quartet featuring Jimmy Raney on guitar, Teddy Kotick on bass and Mel Lewis on drums recorded on June 30th 1955. and... The Teddy Charles Quartet featuring Bob Brookmeyer, Teddy Kotick on bass and Ed Shaughnessy on drums recorded on January 6th 1954. Teddy Charles, on vibes, takes the sound to another level of tone and color ! Superb !
Both dates were recorded in Rudy Van Gelder Studios in Hackensack, NJ.
Prestige LP 7066 (1955) MONO, Deep Groove, RVG, 50th Street
