Original Elektra Records pre-release promotional copy of The Doors’ 6th studio album released in April, 1971 that became the band’s last album recorded with Jim Morrison. This outstanding album is included into “500 Greatest Albums of All Time” according to the Rolling Stone magazine. The cover of this copy has the 1st print design and contains the embossed “Doors” band name, rounded corners and die-cut window opening with a photo of the band printed black half-tone on clear acetate. The upper right-hand corner of the front cover contains an original clear “Includes the Hit Single Love Her Madly EKS-75011” hype sticker. The 1st print custom inner sleeve, which also has the radius corners, contains the blank front side and artwork on the back providing the yellow background color to the cover's window photo when inserted. 1st print Elektra Records 2.75” pressing ring “Radio Station Copy” white label with the “EKS-75011” catalog number and Elektra “15 Columbus Circle, New York City 10023” address. The label design of this issue is considered to be the 8th variation in the Elektra label lineup that was used from 1970 to 1979 and is commonly referred to as the “butterfly” label. The vinyl was pressed at the Columbia Records, Pitman, NJ plant as identified by the “p” symbol in the runout grooves. The full matrix numbers are as follows: Side 1 - EKS-75011-A CP p Artisan Logo; Side 2 - EKS-75011 B-2 CP p Artisan Logo. The mastering of this issue was done by Artisan Sound Recorders.

The cover is graded as Excellent Minus. It's very clean and doesn't contain any splits, writing or residue, only having some very light age shelf scuffing on the front and back cover with a couple of very light creases at the bottom left corner of the front cover and bottom left corner of the back cover. I grade the vinyl as Very Good Plus. It retains its beautiful factory gloss having some very light surface hairlines as well as scuffs from the inner sleeve, mostly on Side 2 which also has a couple of visible marks that don't affect the playback. The snow white labels are scuff- and wear-free and in stunning Near Mint Minus condition. The vinyl sounds great only having some very light occasional static. Track 2 of Side 1 has a couple of light ticks, which probably will disappear if you change the balance of your tonearm. Most likely, the static also could get reduced or go away if the record was professionally cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine. The original yellow inner sleeve is in Excellent condition without having any splits or tears.
