In the next few weeks I will be listing a few rare LP's that are intended for "serious" collectors. Now that the dreaded tax season is behind us, perhaps we can get back to some quality living.
Today's listing is for the very desirable and hard to find Crystals LP, Twist Uptown, PHLP 4000, in beautiful condition. This record is from my personal collection, and was obtained from a retired Disc Jockey from the old rockin' oldies station KRLA in Los Angeles. He is a personal friend of Mr. Spector who, according to him, recieved the record personally from Phil! It is stamped "Sample Record Not For Sale", probably put on the record from the recording studio. Which promo came first? You will have to decide. This was my personal shelf copy until I was fortunate enough to come upon a mint "Capitol Record Club" copy from one of Ebay's true quality sellers! The vinyl is beautiful. Full gloss with no groove wear or scratches. One small paper scuff that does not effect play on side one prevents a gem 10 rating. The vinyl rates a 9 easy. The labels are free of any spindle marks, and has no writing or stickers. The center hole on side two is lsightly frayed from the radio station use, but overall, they are in super condition. They grade an 8. The jacket has a wonderful photo of the girls with unblemished color. The back is beautiful and white, with just the slightes amount of age yellowing on the bottom. A tiny ding on the bottom seam, but does not detract from the appearance at all. The spine, as well as the top and bottom seams are in perfect condition. I grade the jacket at an 8+! There may be a better copy out there, but I haven't seen it. This is a keeper for sure, and rarely turns up in this condition. Don't let this one pass you by. Who knows when this LP in this quality of condition will turn up again. My feedback speaks for itself, so bid with confidence! No reserve...Good luck!
