STOP THE PRESS!
We've had several of this LP over the years, and all of them have been nice but this one is special. It's in really nice condition throughout and especially the sleeve is such a good example you will almost certainly NEVER see a better copy.
But the real deal is the SOUND. Wow. This one plays absolutely lovely, not perfect, but as good as you'll get and the best we've heard.
Another thing: the labels on this one are the multi-colour Black Art type, we've never seen this before. All the other copies we've seen are the grey and black variety... and the sleeve printing was different on those copies too; the colours not so deep, the vertical stripes were also blue... some of them had been painted over with yellow but this one has black stripes. It's hard to find concrete evidence but looking at his one, it seems to be the FIRST pressing of this original variant mix, because of the better print quality maybe? but also because of the label design. We can't find any other examples out there. This has to be the real deal, rarest ever version. And it's a stunning example throughout.
The music? Timeless Black Art masterpiece #1 ever. Most deep roots of all time from Jamaica's best vocal group. This is the daddy of all spiritual roots albums and it's also the ORIGINAL mix. For those that do not know, this album appeared in this original mix for the first small batch pressed in Jamaica. ANY other version you see including the otherwise excellent Blood & Fire version will be the subsequent more complicated mix that Perry put out later. We feel this mix is a more down-to-earth version. The biggest difference is the lack of several 'special effects' in the mix, no mooing cows or buzz-saw sounds, it's sparse and a lot more 'crisp' in effect with just some phasing and echo treatments. The edits are also sometimes quite different. You'll recognize it but it will be a strange and new experience if you're used to the other one.
Don't sleep on this album, you'll never see a better example. Seriously..

Refunds:
