The Clash were an English punk rock band formed in 1976 as part of the original wave of British punk. The Clash had a rebellious attitude, their music insisted on addressing the conditions of poverty, petty injustice, and mundane life experienced by the people who bought their records. For most of their recording career The Clash consisted of Joe Strummer (vocals, rhythm guitar), Mick Jones (lead guitar, lead vocals), Paul Simonon (bass), and Nicky 'Topper' Headon (drums). Rolling Stones Magazine ranked The Clash #28 on their list of The Greatest Artists of All Time. Combat Rock is their fifth studio album, and the group's best-selling album. Reception and Influence: Kurt Cobain listed it in his top fifty albums of all time.
