The album is still sealed in its original shrink wrap. The vinyl disc has never been taken from its sleeve and has never been played. It is assumed to be in Mint condition.

The cover has been protected by shrink wrap and is in excellent condition.  It has a promo hole punched in the upper right corner.  Movement from the record has caused a 4" split in the shrink wrap on the open edge of the sleeve.  From what can be seen, it appears that there is a plastic or anti-static inner sleeve, which does not appear to have a seam split.

(Wikipedia Excerpts) Minnie Riperton (1947–1979) was an American singer-songwriter best known for her 1975 single "Lovin' You" and her four octave soprano range. She is also widely known for her use of the whistle register and has been referred to by the media as the "Queen of the Whistle Register."

Born in 1947, Riperton grew up in Chicago and studied music, drama and dance. In her teen years, she sang lead vocals for the girl group the Gems. Her early affiliation with Chess Records afforded her the opportunity to sing backing vocals for artists Etta James, Fontella Bass, Ramsey Lewis, Bo Diddley, Chuck Berry and Muddy Waters.

On April 5, 1975, Riperton reached the apex of her career with her No. 1 single "Lovin' You". In January 1976, Riperton was diagnosed with breast cancer and she was given about six months to live. Despite the grim prognosis, she continued recording and touring. She was one of the first celebrities to go public with a breast cancer diagnosis, but she did not disclose that she was terminally ill. In 1977, she became a spokesperson for the American Cancer Society. In 1978, she received the American Cancer Society's Courage Award, which was presented to her at the White House by President Jimmy Carter. Riperton died of breast cancer on July 12, 1979, at the age of 31.

The Best of Minnie Riperton is a posthumous greatest hits album, released in 1981 by Capitol Records. The album consists of the hits like "Perfect Angel," "Lovin' You," "Inside My Love" and "Adventures in Paradise". Also included are her last two released singles "Here We Go" and "You Take My Breath Away," both from the album Love Lives Forever.

The album features a new remix of "Memory Lane"; unreleased live versions of "Can You Feel What I'm Saying?", "Lover And Friend", and "Young, Willing, and Able"; two brief dialog tracks called "Moments with Minnie..."; and a cover of Joni Mitchell's "A Woman of Heart And Mind", a holdover from the Minnie sessions, as the "new" track.

The Seller was in the retail record business in the 1970's-1980's and acquired a collection of 2500+ albums from that era, which is now being sold on Ebay. Most are promotional and collectible LPs which have never (or seldom) been played. Many are white label promos, first pressings, and often factory sealed. The collection has been securely boxed and stored in a smoke free environment since 1983, 39 years! Please check back occasionally to see my new listings. I add approx. 25–50 new LPs per week. 
Grading methodology is as follows: 
M (MINT) - Album is brand new, sealed, and has never been played. 
NM (NEAR MINT) - Vinyl looks as if you just got it home from a new record store and removed the shrink wrap. LP cover may have some light rub marks. 
VG+ (VERY GOOD PLUS) - Vinyl may show some signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Sleeves will have some slight wear, lightly turned corners, or a slight seam split. May have slight signs of wear also may be marred by a cut out hole, sawcut, or cut corner indicating it is a promotional copy. 
VG (VERY GOOD) - Vinyl has light wear, scratches, or scuffs. Covers may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached, etc.
