There aren’t that many chances to come across a copy of this album in a such condition. The original cardboard paste-over 2nd state cover remains fully in its original factory shrink wrap and is in pristine Near Mint condition. Unpeeled “Butcher” cover with a perfectly visible “V” neck detail of Ringo’s black sweater underneath the Near Mint paste-over slick. The bottom right corner of the back cover contains the RIAA “6”, the identifier of Capitol Records’ pressing plant in Los Angeles, CA. Original 1st print Capitol Records black multicolor band 1st print labels with the T-2553 catalog number and without the “Subsidiary…” text. The 1st pressing matrix numbers featuring the “*” (asterisk) symbol identifying this issue as a Los Angeles, CA plant pressing are as follows: Side 1 - T-1-2553-G-22 1 *; Side 2 – T-2-2553-F-17 1 *. The album comes with an original Capitol Records "Capitol '66; Sounds Great!" gold inner sleeve.

The cover is in amazing Near Mint condition. The shrink wrap has done a great job of preserving the cover in its original state. The shrink wrap is fully intact and only has a small barely noticeable tear in the lower left corner of the back cover. I grade the vinyl as Very Good Plus. It retains its glossy factory lacquer but has a few very light non-feelable surface hairlines and marks along with some light scuffs from the original inner sleeve, which is in Near Mint condition and doesn't have any tears or splits. The clean Near Mint labels are wear- and scuff-free and don't have any spindle marks. The vinyl sounds great with some light occasional static, which most likely will get reduced or go away if the record is professionally cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine.
