Description
Here is an absolute first run issue of Yesterday & Today by The Beatles in '3rd state'. The history can be traced since I knew the original owner. It was bought through Capitol Record Club as one of the features of the month. The owner was unaware of it being a 2nd state until 1979. It was unprofessionally peeled in 81 or 82. I peel is pretty good compared to most 'unprofessional' peels. Ringo lost a bit of his cheek (but his eye is still there. Paul has a hole in his pants. Beyond that, it's not bad. This is the real deal, a home-done peel from a first run pasteover.
It is a #6 (LA) issue as most were from the record club.
The ORIGINAL disk is hand etched in the dead-wax (side 1)T-1-2553-F 21 (side 2) T-1-2553-G 22.
The cover back is good, no writing, some age foxing. No seams are split, but the spine is rough.
500 of my feedbacks are from selling vinyl records. I am simply describing this one. NOT grading it. The disk is well-played and is covered with micro-lines. Yet it plays through quite nicely with no skips. It has no deep scratches, but a thousand light ones. Surface noise is minimal for one in this visual condition. Noise only obvious between songs. Just put the original disk with the historical cover or play it knowing it's the real deal. This is a original relic in decent shape. Guaranteed. I will admit that the original Capitol ad sleeve was an added bonus. I am sure the original one was long gone before it was peeled. But it is the correct one. This is a honest listing.
