A very small minority of UK pressed labels on side 2 slipped out of EMI’s factory with the American spelling of ROCKY RACOON (with one C) compared to ROCKY RACCOON (as listed in the song titles inside the gatefold cover). This is not just a very rare copy, it is EXCELLENT or more and a copy to keep!
The 4 sides of the vinyl are beautifully clean to look at with minor surface scratches. The stereo sound plays as excellent+ with just a few audible clicks here and there but nothing to detract from listening pleasure.
The LABELS are excellent, clean examples with minor spindle trails. Side 1 label bears ‘KT’ embossing which is another rarity as most white album copies from 1968 were without any embossing. Side 2 label has of course the RACOON ‘error’.
The top loading gatefold cover has some corner wear and slight discolouration but overall is a very nice clean copy with ‘stereo’ in the top right hand corner on the rear. The spine is still good and proud with the text clearly legible. The LAMINATE has remained intact on the whole cover including the spine. For being over 48 years old it is a truly excellent example.
The LPs are kept in 2 excellent+ examples of original 1968 Black Die Cut Inners with no rips or tears, especially around the die cut which often gets damaged. These are among the best and cleanest examples I have ever seen in first pressing white albums.
The POSTER and LYRIC SHEET has been kept carefully in its folds and has no rips, tears or creases. A truly near mint example!
The 4 portrait photos are also wonderful examples. Clean, and never pinned on the wall. Fantastic examples!
(In an era of ‘reproductions’ I can guarantee that the poster, black die cut inners and photos are originals).
