Description

Here’s a RARE ONE for some vinyl or Beatles collector.

In this auction:

·       “HEY JUDE”/“THE BEATLES AGAIN” LP by the Beatles

·       This LP is Apple Records SO-385/SW-385.

·       This LP was originally issued February 26, 1970.

·       This LP consolidated 10 Beatles singles that were originally released in the 7-inch (45 RPM) format, but were never included on an LP until this LP.

·       THIS LP IS A FIRST PRESSING OF THIS TITLE. We know this because:

1)   The A-side label identifies the LP as “THE BEATLES AGAIN” with the catalog number SO-385 (not SW-385).

2)   The cover has the correct LP title “HEY JUDE” with the correct catalog number SW-385.

3)   The cover is of cardboard construction (NOT poster-board) with front and rear slicks pasted on. (Poster-board covers were used after 1976.)

·       This LP has a RARE PRESSING ERROR: The B-Side Label is for the Beatles’ “ABBEY ROAD” LP!!! Of course, it should have the B-side label for “THE BEATLES AGAIN” LP. The B-side vinyl plays the B-side of “THE BEATLES AGAIN”.

·       It was pressed at Capitol’s Jacksonville plant.

·       This error probably occurred due to the fact that the two LPs were issued within a few months of each other, “Abbey Road” on October 1, 1969 and “The Beatles Again”/”Hey Jude” on February 26, 1970. So, there were simultaneous runs of both LPs taking place.

·       THIS PRESSING ERROR IS UNDOCUMENTED!!! It is unknown as to how many of these records with error Side B labels were produced, how many copies made it past Capitol Records’ quality control checks and were released like this one, and how many have actually been reported/verified.

·       The COVER is in NEAR MINT CONDITION. There is a very tiny push on the lower right corner at the bottom of the opening.

·       The VINYL is in NEAR MINT MINUS CONDITION with just a few very light surface hairlines/scuffs.

A VERY NICE 1st PRESSING of this BEATLES’ LP with VERY RARE UNDOCUMENTED ERROR LABEL to add to your vinyl collection!!!
